Quick Setup & Deployment Guide (iOS)
This page walks your MDM administrator through setting up VuLock powered by DriveScreen on iOS devices. Each section is designed for easy copy/paste to reduce setup errors and speed up deployment.
Overview (Read First)
What you’ll do:
- Approve and deploy the DriveScreen app via your MDM
- Download your company license from the DriveScreen MSM server
- Copy/paste configuration values into Intune
- Test on a small set of devices
- Deploy broadly once approved
Recommended: Perform the configuration step together with the VuLock / DriveScreen support team.
Step 1 – Install the DriveScreen iOS App
- The app is called DriveScreen
- Available in the Apple App Store
- Must be approved and deployed through your MDM (do not manually install)
Step 2 – Download Your License File
- Log into the DriveScreen MSM Server
- Download your company license file
- Locate your Product Key (you’ll paste this in Step 4)
Step 3 – Prepare Your Intune Configuration
Intune supports XML-based configuration profiles. Paste the XML below directly into the Configuration Policy Wizard using the “Use XML data” option. Before saving the policy, replace PASTE_PRODUCT_KEY_HERE with your company’s Product Key from the DriveScreen MSM license file.
Copy / Paste XML Configuration:
Step 4 – Configure Identifier Tokens (Optional)
Intune supports dynamic tokens that can be used to uniquely identify users or devices. By default, the XML uses the user’s principal name, but you may substitute or combine tokens based on your organization’s requirements.
Supported Intune Tokens:
Step 5 – Test the Configuration
Before deploying VuLock broadly, validate the configuration on a small group of devices to confirm everything is working as expected.
Recommended Testing Process:
- Assign the configuration policy to 1–10 test devices
- Verify the following on each device:
- The DriveScreen app installs successfully
- The app launches without errors
- The Product Key is applied correctly
- App restrictions behave as intended
Important: Do not proceed to full deployment until testing has been completed and approved.
Step 6 – Deploy to Licensed Devices
Once testing is complete and the configuration has been approved, VuLock can be deployed to all licensed iOS devices.
Deployment Steps:
- Assign the approved configuration policy to all licensed devices in Intune
- Monitor deployment status through the Intune admin console
- Confirm successful activation across deployed devices
Note: Only devices covered by your VuLock / DriveScreen license should be included in the final deployment. After deployment, ongoing device compliance and configuration can be managed directly through your MDM.
